Recruiting trends in 2022

Figure 01 : Recruiting Trends

Recruiting and retaining talent is a significant priority for many business leaders as we head into 2022 in this extended pandemic-driven operating climate. The Great Resignation of 2021 saw a higher-than-normal rate of employment resignations. Many employees may have re-evaluated their priorities and values, which may have included considering how their bosses treated them throughout the pandemic and the industry's susceptibility (e.g., hospitality, retail). Mass resignations have resulted, as well as a highly competitive talent market for companies.

Recruitment methods have had to adjust to change in the recent years. Hiring techniques that were common in the aftermath of the pandemic are starting to look old and unproductive. With the rise of remote working and skills shortages, it became clear that the recruitment landscape would never be the same again.

In light of this, here are few recruitment trends that can be used in 2022.

Moving Recruiting from Reactive to Proactive

Recruitment in the future will be proactive, deliberate, and highly focused. Recruiting trends will include actively searching for individuals for specific positions and building groups or categories of candidates who will be ready to fill specific positions when they become available. Before the employment needs are obvious, recruiters and employers will select potential personnel.

Proactive recruiters will be first to the table with ready-to-hire applicants in order to beat out the competition and expedite their placements. Building relationships, fostering talent pools for future positions, and recognizing the skills required to fine-tune recruitment efforts and remain ahead of recruiting trends will all be required (Paychex worx, 2022).

Extending Recruiting on Social Media

Posting job openings and utilizing social media channels to recruit talent that is specific to your sector and the abilities you require can be quite effective. You can even limit your search to people who are actively looking for new job possibilities. You're more likely to attract great applicants and keep on top of hiring trends if your company uses current recruitment tools like social media to create a relationship with your target audience (Paychex worx, 2022).

A rise in data-driven recruitment

Digital initiatives, like consumer marketing, can provide insight into your potential applicants and talent pool. These insights may be used to create clever recruitment tactics that will give a competitive advantage. These measurement tools are ready to use, as they have been for the past decade by consumer marketing teams. In 2022, the recruitment marketing mindset must shift to one that prioritizes data analysis, experimentation, and success evaluation. Recruitment marketing will become a far more fascinating feature of talent strategies (Anon., 2021).

Reaching passive candidates

A passive candidate is someone who is not actively looking for a job but has the skills and experience that qualify them for your open position. They are frequently the best hires. They're delighted by a firm and its employer brand, from its values to its mission, rather than desperate to quit their current job or fearing unemployment. Whether it's the opportunity to learn, the prospect of a new challenge, or the chance to work for a company that shares their values, something about the possibility entices them and makes them consider leaving the safety of their current employment.

This is a trend that shows no signs of abating anytime soon. Reaching out to passive applicants vastly increases the possible talent pool and is something that no organization can afford to overlook. As a result, we anticipate a growth in digital attraction methods and outreach to passive applicants (Anon., 2021).
